Ooh, kink bingo!

Can I pester you with stupid newbie questions?

I have never participated in this bingo before, but I've been wanting to, and now a new round is here and I could ask for a card. However, with all the rules and posts and guidelines, it looks really complicated (I suppose it is the subject matter; I've fallen totally off the wagon with all the "new" sexuality terms, under-categories, categories, or just... you know... :S I need to educate myself, clearly...)

Are the basic rules of the kink_bingo any more difficult than any other bingo? (I've played around in trope_bingo for one round, and currently am involved in love_bingo.) I would think at its simplest, the rules are the same, but there are so many tidbits that are being posted that I feel like I don't have time for this when I want it short and simple :D

It is a little more involved than some bingos because the mods are trying to be as respectful as possible and posting a lot of resources and information about kinks, but it isn't really that much more time consuming on the writing end in my opinion. They have a great kink wiki that they maintain as a resource that helps with any questions about kinks:

http://kink-wiki.dreamwidth.org/

And they are very open to creative interpretations as long as they are respectful.

Two years ago I did a blackout and last year I just submitted a few for the amnesty. I really found the experience to be rewarding and it is a very well run comm in my opinion. If you want to give it a try I would recommend going ahead and getting a card this year because they are going to take next year off and start going to an every other year model.

I think the basic rules are the same as other bingos I've been in. They are just very thorough with posting up all the rules. They are just extra informative because of the content matter I think.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels there's a lot of information presented there (although I do understand why, totally).

It could be me, or the internet has been filling with plenty more sensitive people than it used to be... OR, my small corner of some fandom wasn't that involved in all of it. I've never been that active in any front, so, could be it's always been there and I'm looking outside my box for the first time, lol.

Guess I'll need to go and request a card... not that I need any more writing projects to handle. But, 500 words is a piece of cake. Problem is, when you start writing 10k entries for a bingo... it eats away from something else.

Good luck with your card!
