#1 The Hypothetical AU Meme: Give me another time period (Ancient Rome, Regency England, etc.) OR give me a type of AU (space opera AU, pirate AU, superhero AU, etc.). I will then explain what Hawaii Five-0 story I would write.
#2 YOU pick a scene from one of my Hawaii Five-0 fics that you want to see from another character's perspective. I write it!
#3 Tell me about a Hawaii Five-0 story I haven't written, and I'll give you one sentence from that story.

#5 The thing is, when people look for stories, they always make it sound like badfic. Now, often that's because it really is badfic, but sometimes it's good and they just suck at describing the story. So, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to summarize badly any one (or more!) of my stories and I'll try to guess which it is. You could even pretend you don't remember the pairing or fandom to make it harder to guess.

Date: 2011-07-14 05:26 pm (UTC)Steve is an injured soldier, disenfranchised with the war and the government. He's come home suffering the effects of PTSD and a deeply shaken world view. He grows his hair out as a subtle protest and eventually falls in with peace protesters. Danny is a working class cop, frustrated by the ungrateful rich kids whose parents have enough money that they can spend their time protesting instead of doing something useful. Tensions are running high as cops and protesters clash. But everything changes when Danny arrests Steve.
3. That one where Steve tried to teach Danny how to surf.
Steve tried to watch Danny's form, he really did, but how could he be expected to concentrate when all of Danny's skin was exposed like that?

Wuthering Heights Fusion...umm...damn it now I have to actually think about it instead of just throwing out a classic book title. Are you sure you don't want more of my moderately offensive Jane Eyre Fusion? No? Well okay then:
I'm actually going to go against the normal pairing here and say that Steve is the brooding Heathcliff character who was taken in by Kono's family when he was orphaned at a young age. They grew up together and he fell in love with her but she bowed to convention and cultural expectation and married Charlie Fong instead. Steve is a broken abusive man who gets with Jenna instead. And then there are ghosts and drowned puppies...or something.
Now a Band AU to clear that from my brain: Danny is Sonny and Steve is Cher. Enough said. Actually one more thing. "I Got You Babe." Now that's enough said.

Date: 2011-07-14 06:36 pm (UTC)Okay, so I want to say I'd do something realistic and historically accurate but really...it would just be cliche crack. Steve hits Danny over the head, drags him back to the cave as his mate. Danny wakes up to find Steve making pictograms in the cave walls and bitches that he's messing up perfectly good walls. They have a cavegument after which Steve stalks out but brings back a deer for dinner to make it up to Danny. They grill out deer steaks and then fuck like bunnies. The end.

Grace sighed. "Just try not to do anything embarrassing."
"Embarrassing?" Danny turned to Steve. "Did you hear that? Our daughter thinks we're going to embarrass her in front of her friends. Can you believe that?"

Steve stopped, still buried deep in Danny's tight heat. He could have sworn he'd heard something. He turned his head to look in the direction of the sound and saw Catherine standing on the lanai, her dress pulled up around her hips. She looked horrified.
He studied her for a moment. She must be on leave. She always came by when she had free time. They both just assumed that the other would be there and be available. Neither one of them were really the dating type but now--
Danny flexed around him causing his eyes to roll back with the effort not to move. "Hey! Why’d you stop?”
Steve took a deep breath and kept his eyes on Catherine. “Sorry, Danny. I thought I heard something.”
“How you could hear anything when--”
Steve turned his attention back to Danny, kissing him to stop the argument he knew was brewing. It really was an effective tactic, he just wished he'd figured it out sooner. Months sooner.
Whatever his motivation, when his lips touched Danny's all thought fled. He lost himself in the moment forgetting about Catherine. As Danny returned the gentle caress, Steve felt nearly overwhelmed. Whatever he had done in his life to end up here on this beach with Danny, well it was worth it.
It wasn't until hours later, lying in bed with Danny asleep next to him, that he thought about the look on Catherine's face and realized that he probably wouldn't ever see her again. Part of him would miss her but the larger part was ready to move on. He rolled over and slipped an arm around Danny's waist. He was done with casual.

"That young man is just adorable," his mother whispered.
Danny gaped at his mother. "Adorable? Steve? Steven McGarrett? Adorable?"
She rolled her eyes and nodded in the direction of the living room. Danny stuck his head out and, okay, maybe his mother had a point. Steve was sitting on the couch, a blanket wrapped around his shoulders and a mug of hot chocolate clutched in his hands. A soft smile spread over Danny's face. Steve had been outside all morning building a snow man with Grace and still wasn't used to the winter weather, but he hadn't complained once. Sometimes he really loved that man.
Danny froze. Love? Steve? Did he really just think that?

Oh sweetie, you didn't force anything there. I'm afraid that was all me. :D Also...is it wrong that I kinda want to clean that up and post it? Oh Zombie Attics...who'd have thought?
