Snowflake Challenge Day 14

I feel like I have already asked for so much during the course of this challenge, but I suppose that what I could use now is cheerleading. I finally got a real start on my avengers_bang last night and it is going to be a new and difficult writing experience for me.

Structurally the time loop will make me have to write differently, but, more than that, so much of it is about the character of Tony Stark instead of having a more relationship centered focus. I am a bit worried about doing it right. At the same time I am excited about my idea and hope I can pull it off. Also, I have so much trouble writing long fic and my attention wanders. The rough draft isn't due until March, but I really want to be done with it by the time the c_im_bigbang Reverse Bang author sign ups open at the end of February.

So yeah, some cheerleading would be nice. I'd also love to know what music you all associate with Tony. I dug through my iTunes and a bunch of fanmixes last night, but I'd love to know if there is a song that you think just screams Tony.

I'm not good with music, so I can't help here :( But the thought of a fic that's very Tony-centric is actually really, really exciting to me!! I actually tend to love fics like that, where one of the two getting together are explored and you really get into their heads, more than any other type, really. It's delightful to spend a fic really feeling like you're exploring the character, which it sounds like is what will happen in this fic?

I've never written a long fic from one point of view, but this one has to be just from Tony's. It's actually a time loop where he has to relive the same day over and over again until he learns how to be more of a team player. It will be Steve/Tony as well but at this point it may not be more than preslash because no matter how much Tony experiences, Steve will still just be having that one day.

But, that means I have to really get Tony. /o\ I mean I do, but having to stay there with him will be challenging.

Ohhh this sounds interesting! Because that makes sense of course, even if the pair of them get together, it just gets erased when Tony has to relive it. And of course this whole thing has to pretty much be anchored on Tony because he's the one going through it. Are you nervous about getting Tony at all, or you know you can and just staying in the headspace or w/e long enough to write a long fic? I don't write so this is all kinda virgin~ territory. I wish I knew any tricks or anything that would help with that D:

I'm glad you think it sounds interesting! I think I get Tony, like I understand him and I really feel his emotions with him, if that makes sense, but trying to make sure I keep the proper tone for a long fic is scary. Most of my Avengers fic to date has been from Steve's point of view because it seems somehow easier to write Tony from an outsider's perspective, but now I get to keep it on him.

I think I'll need to rewatch the Iron Man movies. Oh the horror. ;)

Ohhh so it's a bit of stretching your wings, then, cause you've mostly done Steve before. I really do think it's an awesome idea, I really do, and I think if you feel Tony, it shouldn't be too hard to translate that into a longer fic, right? It will probably just take a little bit longer!

And yes, the IM movies will definitely need to be rewatched. Oh what we must do for our fandoms ;)

I guess one could write a whole novel just about Tony and it would put even the LOTR trilogy to shame. XD I'm sure it'll come out fantastic! \o/

I always have to think of Tony when I hear Piece by Piece by Strata, for example. It's incredibly sad. :'(
