Snowflake Challenge Day 8
Jan. 8th, 2012 06:15 pmSnowflake Challenge Day 8
In your own space, talk about a talent (or talents) you have. Everyone's got something they're good at. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
This one is the hardest one so far, because while I know that there are things that I'm good at that word "talent" really makes me pause. It feels like I am tooting my own horn to claim something as a talent and it also seems presumptuous because the things I do, others do better. Oh well, the point of this was to be challenged.
In recent years, I have come to realize that I deal well with people. When I was working at the library I was often confronted with stressed out, rude, even irate people and I didn't let myself get baited into arguments. I kept my cool and managed to help them. In fact, I'm pretty good at keeping my cool in stressful situations in general.
I've always been talented at academic things. Other than math and foreign languages, I've always felt that school came easily. And I wasn't bad at math or languages, I just didn't like them as much. Lol.
I also hate to mention writing because there are so many people on my flist alone who I WISH I was as good as, but I really do feel like I am good at cutting to the emotion of the characters. I think that I manage to write emotion realistically without going over the top and that is something that I am proud of. I may not be the best writer, but I think I do have a talent for that aspect.
